Phnom Penh “Same Same…but different !”

25 April 2011 132 Comments

Although the ‘black market milk’ thread has been pretty thoroughly covered, I just wanted to add that it does indeed exist. A girl I knew in college pumped extra milk and once or twice a week shipped it packed in dry ice and a styrofoam cooler overnight. I don’t believe though that she was paid for it (except supplies and shipping) … she was very much into breastfeeding and the Le Leche League and such.

Hey, my name is Jane and things you mentioned are rught up to me. It’s really difficult to find someone who could understand you. I feel so lonely sometimes, especially in big companies where all people talk about nothing. The only solution is just to do your best in studies and take up as much hobbies as possible in order not to feel this bitter loneliness. Unfortunately my English is bad and I don’t have an ability to express my feelings in a right way.

Well, now, granted — "Avatar" is a giant leap forward in filmmaking, and for that it should win Best Special Effects or whatever. In that regard, it's truly deserving.I think you miss the point, though, Chez, in how critics (including armchair critics like me) derisively compare "Avatar" to "Dances with Wolves." The comparison is in the fact that "Avatar" is virtually a carbon copy of "Dances." It's "Dances with Wolves in Space." I mean, no kidding. I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin Costner filed a lawsuit.Yes, "Dances" won Best Picture. Maybe it was deserving, maybe not. But copycatting an Oscar-winning film doesn't make you deserving of an Oscar.

It is a great fit for younger teens in earlier middle school grades. Of course we would also expect that in the later grades those same students receive education that is comprehensive, including information about condoms and birth control. It is good to finally have an A-O curriculum that isn’t shame or fear based and provides medically accurate information!
